Offered with a very low reserve, this rare antique Steiff teddy bear is 30 cm., 13 inches. This particular size was manufactured between 1927 and 1933; this bear was most likely manufactured during the 1930s. There is no Steiff button-in-ear or tags. This clean, well preserved antique Steiff teddy bear is made of light brown mohair which has faded over time. His original color is true at the joints where unfaded mohair is visible. Mohair loss is minimal; mohair is clean and in overall good condition. This bear is fully jointed, excelsior stuffed, with non-working sqeaker. Eyes are amber glass with black pupil (the left eye is slightly loose); nose is vertically stitched and completely intact. Very slight damage can be found at the top of the left ear where the fabric has begun to fray. Left foot shows some damage as one claw stitch has come loose and the fabric has separated. Paw pads are intact with no damage or stains. Overall condition is considered excellent.
